Event travel details
There are three Travel Options for the Cuban Trail Marathon:
Option 1: A full package including all flights from London
Option 2: A land package starting in Havana
Option 3: A land package starting in either of the regional airports of Holguin or Manzanillo.
Entry into the Cuban Trail Marathon is conditional to taking one of the official travel packages - there is no entry only option.
Package Option 1 - Including all flights from London:
Jan 9: Flight with Cubana Airlines from London to Holguin Airport, Cuba. Transfer to Holguin or Bayamo for an overnight stay.
Jan 10: Transfer on to Marea del Portillo with visits to historic monuments of the Revolution on the way. Check into Marea del Portillo Hotel or it's sister hotel the Farallon del Caribe Hotel on Full board basis. The hotels are of 3-star standard and both overlook the beautiful Playa Marea del Portillo with the lush vegetation of the Sierra Maestra Mountains rising behind.
Jan 11: Walk on part of the Marathon & Half Marathon route.
Jan 12: Race Registration & Pasta party
Jan 13: Early morning start of the Marathon & Half Marathon. Celebration dinner and prize-giving.
Jan 14: At leisure on the beach or optional hiking on Pico Turquino route (booked locally, prices to be confirmed).
Jan 15: Transfer to Holguin Airport for internal flight to Havana. Transfer and check-in to the 4-star Plaza Hotel on B&B basis (upgrade available for the 4-star superior Telegrafo Hotel). Evening at leisure.
Jan 16: La Habana City Tour - old and new Havana including cigar factory & rum museum. Lunch at a local restaurant. Visit Revolution Square and return to hotel.
Jan 17: At leisure in Havana. In the evening we will have a farewell dinner in an Old Havana historic location.
Jan 18: Transfer to Havana Airport for the return flight to London with Cubana.
Package Option 2 - Starting in Havana
Jan 8: Arrive at Havana Airport with own flights. Transfer to the 4-star Plaza Hotel on B&B basis (upgrade available for the 4-star superior Telegrafo Hotel). Evening at leisure.
Jan 9: La Habana City Tour - old and new Havana including cigar factory & rum museum. Lunch at a local restaurant. Visit Revolution Square and return to hotel.
Jan 10: Transfer to Havana Airport for internal flight to Holguin. Transfer to Marea del Portillo for 6 nights on Full Board basis.
Jan 11 to 15: As Option 1.
Jan 16: Transfer to Havana Airport for return flights. Additional nights in Havana at the supplementary prices shown.
Package Option 3 - Starting in Holguin or Manzanillo
Jan 10: Arrive by charter flight into Manzanillo Airport or Holguin Airport and transfer to Marea del Portillo Hotel on Full Board arrangements.
Jan 11: Walk on parts of the trail marathon route.
Jan 12: Race registration & briefing. Pasta Party
Jan 13: Marathon & Half Marathon. Celebration dinner & prize giving.
Jan 14: At leisure on beach, or optional hike on Pico Tourquino route.
Jan 15: At leisure on breach.
Jan 16: Transfer to Manzanillo Airport for return flight.
All prices are Per Person and a non-refundable deposit of £300 (US$600) is required at the time of registering to secure all arrangements. Registrations made withing 10 weeks of the event will require full payment at the time of registering.
All payments should be made in UK£'s (sterling). The US$ price is an indicative price based on Travelex forward rate of £1/$1.94
