Introduction
The Salomon South Downs Marathon covers a 26.2 mile section of the 100 mile length of the South Downs National Trail in the South of England. Starting at Slindon, a typical Downs village with its flint stone clad cottages and finishing at Queen Elizabeth Country Park.
The South Downs are low rolling chalk hills that stretch along the south coast of England through forest and typical grassland - if you want to see some of the quintessential English Countryside with the opportunity to stay in Chichester, one of England's most historic small towns, as part of a longer visit to England this is a must-do event.
